(Iowa City, IA) -- University of Iowa leaders are reminding faculty to stick to the curriculum and keep their political opinions out of the classroom.

A report says several faculty and staff have been airing their opinions in reaction to the election win of Donald Trump inside and outside the classroom this week.

A pediatric fellow responded to a post on X earlier this week hoping the poster would lose their child in a school shooting.

A letter issued by the University says faculty have academic freedom to discuss course subject matter, but shall not introduce controversial matters that have no relation to the subject matter.
