(Geneseo, IL) -- Geneseo City Council is taking the next step in adding another solar farm.

Council is voting to conduct a survey of a site on Roos Hill Road next to Prairie Park that could generate 2 kilowatts for the hospital and high school.

Council members say they'll work to tweak the plans with those who have concerns about the project.

The expected cost is 4.4-million dollars with a million in green incentives from the state.

The city hopes to have the array online in 2026.
