(Undated) -- This weeks' U-S Drought Monitor shows only slight improvement in Iowa and Illinois. Nearly all of Iowa (94%) is either abnormally dry or in some level of drought. Several counties in northwest Iowa are in severe drought. Dry conditions persist in Illinois as well, with nearly all of the state (83%) either abnormally dry or in some level of drought. Conditions are better in southern Illinois. Conditions are most dry in northern Illinois with scattered dry-spots in east central Illinois.
The report does not include rainfall this week. The National Weather Service- Quad Cities predicts dry conditions thru the end of the week, with a slight warm-up, with highs Saturday in the upper 50s to near 60.
There's a slim chance (20-30%) chance of light rain Sunday.
