(Des Moines, IA) -- 12 schools in the Des Moines Independent Community School District were ranked in the bottom 5% in the state in terms of overall performance.
The Iowa Department of Education recently released its annual Iowa School Performance Profiles report, which ranks all schools in Iowa on students' academic performance. 12 DMPS schools were in the bottom 5%, while three rose out of the bottom 5%. DMPS Superintendent Dr. Ian Roberts says the report clarifies which schools the district needs to target with additional support.
The 12 DMPS schools in the bottom 5% include:
- Brubaker Elementary School
- King Elementary School
- Studebaker Elementary School
- Goodrell Middle School
- Harding Middle School
- Hiatt Middle School
- Hoyt Middle School
- Weeks Middle School
- East High School
- Lincoln High School
- North High School
- Virtual Campus
