(Iowa City, IA) -- A University Of Iowa student is charged with interference with official acts after police say he continuously interfered with their investigation into possible hazing at a University of Iowa fraternity house.

Police say they responded to a fire alarm at Alpha Delta Phi on Friday, November 15, and found 56 pledges blindfolded in the basement.

During the investigation, police arrested 21-year-old Joseph Gaya, after they say he ignored several requests from officers to step away and told witnesses not to say anything.

The university has placed the frat on interim suspension while the investigation continues.
