WalletHub: Iowa 10th Most Vulnerable State to Identity Theft and Fraud

(Iowa) -- A national financial website ranks Iowa among the top 10 states most vulnerable to identity theft and fraud.

WalletHub ranks Iowa number 10 on its list of of most vulnerable states to identity theft. Their nationwide study included all 50 states and the District of Columbia and looked at three key metrics: Identity theft, Fraud, and Policy. Iowa was ranked number 1 in the nation for average loss amount due to online identity theft, 18th for State Security-Freeze Laws for Minors’ Credit Reports, and 12th for Persons Arrested for Fraud per capita. Washington, D.C. tops the list as the most vulnerable to identity theft, and West Virginia comes in as least vulnerable.
