Starting next week, applicants for the Nebraska Emergency Rental Assistance program will go on a waitlist.

The Nebraska Investment Finance Authority says the change is due to big demand and funds running low.

NIFA will review applications received before December 16 before they transition to a waitlist.

Waitlist applicants may or may not be approved for assistance, but all will be directed to housing stabilization services for help with employment, groceries, and other needs.
