Numerous Injuries In Omaha Apartment Building Fire

Omaha Fire says four people were hospitalized, two in serious condition, and numerous others were treated and checked out at the scene after a two- alarm fire in a west central Omaha apartment building early Wednesday morning.

The Red Cross and Salvation Army were on the scene near 74th and Cedar Streets to help those displaced.

OFD says numerous residents were evacuated with the assistance of firefighters.

One infant was rescued from the first floor.

Investigators say one adult and one pediatric patient were taken to the hospital in serious condition, while two children were transported with less serious injuries.

Two adults and one child were treated at the scene and declined a trip to the hospital.

Four other pediatric patients were checked out at the scene and required no treatment.

The fire department says approximately twenty-five residents were moved to a temporary shelter.

The fire in the three -story building was reported around 2:30 a. m.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
