Des Moines Seeking Residents Input On City Housing Strategy

(Des Moines, IA) -- The City of Des Moines is asking residents to take a housing survey. It's part of an effort to come up with a Citywide Housing Strategy.

The City says the idea is to create a balanced distribution of housing that aligns with the City’s long-term goals, including those outlined in the PlanDSM Comprehensive Plan, Statement of Housing Needs, and neighborhood revitalization strategies. City officials say the goal is to provide a roadmap for addressing housing needs, including affordability challenges and competitiveness within the regional market, and in turn enhance the quality of life for all Des Moines residents.

Residents are encouraged to take an online survey

The City of Des Moines is partnering with CZB, LLC, a national housing and planning consultancy, along with a 17-member steering committee.
