"Avalanche," "Hans Snowlo" Among Nebraska Snowplow Name Winners

(Undated) -- The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) has announced winners of its fourth annual "Name-A-Snowplow" contest. Some of the winners include: Hans Snowlo, Control-Snow-Delete, Snowcus Pocus, Snow Rex, and Slusher Crusher. NDOT received 13-hundred submissions for this year's contest.

NDOT visited the winning schools to personally congratulate the students.

“This contest is an excellent opportunity to highlight the effort that goes into ensuring our roads are

safe, especially during winter,” said NDOT Director Vicki Kramer. “Engaging with students allows us to

tell our story while delivering a safety message to Nebraska’s future drivers.”

 NDOT operates a fleet of more than 600 snowplows to ensure driver safety during winter weather.

Other winners include: Fast and Snowiest, Aspiradora de Nieve (snow vacuum cleaner), Up to Snow Good, Snow Snow Plower Rangers, Mr. Freeze, Pete the Plow, Hungry Hungry Snow Eater, Who Let the Plows Out?! Chilli Vanilli, Snow Out, Cold and Bold,
