(Rock Island, IL) -- The city of Rock Island is extending its ban on new vape shops through the end of June 2025.

In October, the city said would pause any new vape businesses through the end of this year.

There are currently 30 businesses in the city that sell vape products, with four dedicated vape shops.

In Rock Island, the city defines a vape business as an establishment where tobacco products make up at least 80% of sales.
