Natural Gas Rates to Likely Go Up for Black Hills Energy Customers in 2025

(Iowa) -- The Iowa Utilities Commission approves a request from Black Hills Energy to adjust natural gas rates for customers.

The IUC approved the request on Monday, with changes to take effect on January 1st. Black Hills Energy says it estimates customers' rates will go up by roughly $2.38 on average. The company says rate increases will be based on overall uses, rate class, other factors. Black Hills Energy has roughly 163,000 customers in Iowa across over 130 communities.
