(Rock Island, IL) -- State police are revealing more details about a deadly police shooting in Rock Island on Sunday.
Investigators say police were trying to arrest Jakarta Jackson on an outstanding arrest warrant when he stopped his vehicle on 12th Street and tried to flee on foot.
Police haven't released the identity of the officer who shot Jackson after being dragged by the 21 year-old's car when he tried to stop him from driving off again.
Officers say Jackson died at the scene.
The Rock island Police Department says the officer involved is on leave pending the completion of the investigation.
Protesters at the County Courthouse yesterday dispute the official account of the shooting.
