(Midwest) -- The Federal Trade Commission is joining attorneys general from two states in suing Deere and Company.

The lawsuit from the FTC and the attorneys general from Illinois and Minnesota accuses the agriculture equipment manufacturer of unfair practices that have driven up costs for farmers and made equipment repairs more difficult.

The FTC argues that Deere's practices have forced farmers to rely on authorized dealers for repairs, contributing to Deere and Company's multi-billion-dollar profits.
