Former Wold Employee Charged With Try To Cash Stolen Check

(Davenport, IA) -- A former employee of Andrew Wold, the landlord who owned the Davenport apartment building that collapsed in May 2023 killing three men, is facing several charges including trespassing and fraud.

Police say 43 year-old Justin Carlisle is accused of trying to cash a stolen check he filled out for $800 from Wold Investments.

He's also accused of trespassing at a Wold-owned Harrison Street apartment building he was fired and evicted from for posting pictures of a crumbling basement foundation online.

The Quad City Times reports that the city is now investigating the building after an inspector was kept from examining the section of the basement shown in the photos last week.
