(Adel, IA) -- High winds and dry vegetation turned a controlled burn into a 100+ acre fire south of Adel Sunday.
Six area departments were called in to help get the fire under control. People 30-miles to the east in Des Moines reported smelling something burning as smoke from the large fire was carried in the wind.
The Adel Fire Department tells WHO Radio News no crew members were injured and no buildings were damaged.
