(Bettendorf, IA) -- The first of three Columbian nationals police say are in in the country illegally have been sentenced in connection with two Quad Cities burglaries.
The three were arrested in Altoona, after police say they were identified on surveillance video breaking into two Bettendorf homes.
They're accused of stealing jewelry, gold, cash, ID, and a pistol.
The first suspect was sentenced to two years probation instead of jail after pleading guilty to third-degree burglary to allow him to self-deport.
Cases against the other two suspects are pending.
