The suspect killed in an officer-involved shooting on Interstate 80 has been identified as a Milwaukee, Wisconsin man.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office says 51-year-old Vonderrick Rayford was pulled over early Tuesday morning for excessive speeding.

During the course of the traffic stop, DCSO says he got out of the car and opened fire on a Dallas County Deputy, which led to a brief standoff. He was later shot and killed by law enforcement.

The Sheriff's Office says the car Rayford was driving was stolen out of Colorado, and the weapon he used was also stolen. Rayford had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Wisconsin.
