Polk County Health Department Debuts Harm Reduction Vending Machine

(Polk County, IA) -- The Iowa Department of Public Health has installed a new harm reduction vending machine.

The machine will offer free emergency and health and safety resources such as Narcan, to reverse opioid overdoses, gun locks, emergency contraception, sexual health products, harm reduction kits, and more. The machine was provided through a partnership with the Family Planning Council of Iowa. The machine will be in operation around the clock, seven days a week.

All products in the machine are free, and users can access them anonymously. The machine is located in front of the Polk County Health Department building at 1907 Carpenter Avenue.
