National Study: Iowa Has 3rd Best Foster Care System in the Country

(Iowa) -- A new national study shows Iowa has one of the best foster care systems in the nation.

Non-profit organization SmileHub ranked all 50 states across 19 key metrics, and ranked Iowa's foster care system 3rd best overall. Among some of the metrics examined, Iowa ranked 1st in the nation for High School Graduation Rate for Youth in Foster Care as well as Equality Laws and Regulations.

Iowa ranked second in the metric measuring the Number of Children Adopted Within Three Years. Topping the list for best foster care system in the country is Virginia, and coming in last on the study is Alaska.
