(Rock Island, IL) -- A proposed development in an environmentally sensitive area of Rock Island has cleared another hurdle.
An Illinois State Historic Preservation Office report says there are no burial grounds around the Milan Bottoms site of a planned gas station and marijuana dispensary at I-280 and Illinois Route 92.
The city is still waiting for a final plan from the developer. Once they receive that, other environmental reviews by the Fish & Wildlife Service and DNR will be done.
Several groups are concerned about the development's affect on numerous bald eagle roosts nearby.
