(Polk County, IA) -- A new blueprint seeks to address homelessness in Polk County.
The Blueprint to Address Homelessness was released by Homefront, Polk County's homelessness planning organization. The blueprint identifies seven key action items. Those items include:
- Reduce System Overflow
- Improve Crisis Response Capacity
- End Unsheltered Homelessness
- Accelerated Exits to Stable Housing
- Connections to Adjacent Systems
- Active System Management
- Affordable Housing Development
The blueprint is a result of interviews and conversations with people coming from a wide range of backgrounds with members of Homefront and strategic funding partner Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. Those conversations and interviews included CEOs, social workers, police departments, members of the homeless community, healthcare providers, and more.
The full blueprint to address homelessness is available on Homeward's website.
