(Des Moines, IA) - A small group of South African refugees will be resettling in Des Moines, according to the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.
Roughly three dozen individuals, including children, recently arrived in the U.S. through a new federal program offering expedited entry. Fourteen of them are being placed in Iowa, Idaho, and North Carolina.
The Committee says it will assist with housing and job support for those beginning new lives in Central Iowa.
