Des Moines Blank Park Zoo to Break Ground on New Lion Conservation Center

(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines' Blank Park Zoo will break ground on a new lion conservation center this week.

When completed, the Marjorie A. Foster Lion Conservation Center will triple the existing space for lions at the Blank Park Zoo and offer visitors three different viewing locations featuring protective glass from floor to ceiling. The project is part of the the $18 million dollar Expand the Impact campaign, which is one of the largest in the history of the Blank Park Zoo.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for Tuesday at 11am.
