(Des Moines, IA) -- Several cities in the Des Moines metro area have announced that multiple aquatic centers will remain closed ahead of the Memorial Day weekend due to unseasonably cool weather.
The City of Ankeny stated that both Cascade Falls Aquatic Center and Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center will remain closed in accordance with a city policy requiring aquatic centers to close if the temperature is below 68°F. Both facilities are now expected to open on May 27, weather permitting.
West Des Moines also announced that Valley View Aquatic Center and Holiday Park Aquatic Center, which were originally scheduled to open this weekend, will now delay their openings due to the forecasted cold weather. These centers are now set to open on May 31.
