A 37-year-old man is facing statutory rape charges after a missing West Des Moines teen was found in Tennessee.
Police say Martin Sandoval had been communicating with the 13-year-old victim on social media, then drove 13 hours to West Des Moines to pick her up, and back to Tennessee.
Investigators say Sandoval and the victim had multiple sexual encounters.
He was taken into custody, and further charges are expected in West Des Moines in the coming days.
