Iowa DCI names officers involved in Davenport officer-involved shooting

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is releasing more details in an officer-involved shooting in Davenport.

It happened on May 12th at around 3 a.m. on the city's East side, with officers responding to a reported domestic disturbance with a knife.

While Davenport Police were interviewing two women involved outside of a home, gunshots were heard from inside.

D-C-I says 26-year-old Davionce Lackey then exited the house and pointed a handgun toward the women and officers and fired. Police returned fire and hit Lackey multiple times.

She was taken to the hospital, treated for her injuries and released. No officers were injured.

DCI has identified the two officers involved as members of the Davenport Police Department:

  • Officer Dan Hylton (four-year veteran)
  • Officer Michael Hogan (four-year veteran)

Both remain on critical incident leave pending a review by the Scott County Attorney's Office. The incident remains under investigation.
