Authorities have found the body of what they believe to be a missing boater from Eddyville in the Des Moines River.
The Mahaska County Sheriff's Office says that searchers found a body believed to be 47-year-old Waylon Straube around 2:15 p.m. Friday in Wapello County, about a quarter-mile south of the Chillicothe Bridge.
He went missing after a boating accident on the river just before 10 p.m. on May 25, when he was ejected from the boat. A woman in the boat with him, Roseann Benda of Corydon, was rescued from the water by two citizen boaters.
The body will be taken to the Medical Examiner's office in Ankeny for an autopsy and identification.
