Police have arrested a West Des Moines man in connection to a bomb threat at the MercyOne facility in Clive.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a report of a bomb threat targeting the MercyOne Family Medicine clinic just after 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Clive Police say officers evacuated everyone from the building and an explosive detection K-9 from the Johnston Police Department searched the facility.

No explosive devices were found inside the building and that the threat was deemed not credible

Clive Police say then they traced the source of the call to the facility to the home of 59-year-old Kevin Sanders. He told police he was frustrated with the length of time he was waiting on hold.

After asking what was taking so long, Sanders referenced a bomb in the building, then hung up.

He was arrested and charged with harassment, a simple misdemeanor.
