(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Today marks the first anniversary of a quadruple homicide in Robins, north of Cedar Rapids.
Police say Luke Truesdell confessed to them that he killed four people with a metal pipe for a variety of reasons including wanting a movie about the crime made.
Now lawyers for Truesdell say his confession should be thrown out because he wasn’t read his Miranda rights first.
Police say the 34 year-old wasn’t yet under arrest when he confessed to them.
A judge ruled Truesdell competent to stand trial on four charges of first-degree murder last summer while denying a request to have the trial moved out of Linn County due to publicity.
The trial is scheduled to begin in November.
