(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines 70.3 Ironman race is happening this weekend.
The race includes a 1.2 mile swim at Gray's Lake, a 56 mile bike ride that goes throughout Des Moines and West Des Moines, followed by a 13.1 mile run ending on Court Avenue in downtown Des Moines. The race draws athletes from around the country and the world, and roughly 1,400 athletes are signed up to compete.
