(Davenport, IA) -- A move to reduce a program to help Davenport homeowners make improvements to the outside of their homes has been nixed.
Every year, the DREAM Project funds about $20,000 worth of facade improvements for nearly three-dozen homeowners between Bridge Avenue and Fairmont Street, up to Locust.
City Council voted down a plan to reduce the program area from 4,700 houses to 600.
Aldermen say they actually want to expand the program.
They're looking at using funds from the Davenport NOW program expiring in 2027 to do so.
