(Vicksburg, MS) -- One of the artists scheduled at the Des Moines Art Festival won't make it this year.

H.C. Porter's RV and trailer caught fire on her way here, destroying her artwork and personal belongings.

The fire was caused by a generator that overheated. Porter says her losses were insured, and she plans to return to the Des Moines Art Fair next year. Arts Festival organizers expressed their sympathy for her situation.

The Des Moines Arts Festival begins today and runs through Sunday at Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines.
