(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines residents will have a chance to dispose of a variety of items this weekend.
Des Moines Public works is hosting two SCRUB events on Saturday, July 19th at separate locations. Des Moines residents can dispose of items including furniture, appliances, TVs, lawn mowers drained of oil and gas, and tires at a limit of 10 per person. That event will be held at the MWA Metro Central Transfer Station located at 4198 Delaware Avenue.
A separate event at the City of Des Moines Compost Center, located at 1601 Harriet Street, will accept leaves, grass clippings, garden waste, tree limbs at a maximum diameter of 24" and maximum length of 10', as well as straw, hay, and garden waste. Both free events run from 7am to 2pm.
