(Des Moines, IA) -- A Des Moines man is sentenced to over 18 years in federal prison for fentanyl and firearm charges.
In September 2024, 34-year-old Sean O'Boyle was stopped by police and fled in his car, crashing into a police cruiser and a tree before fleeing on foot. Police report that O'Boyle threw a loaded stolen firearm into a field while running from law enforcement. When police searched his vehicle they found police found a distribution quantity of fentanyl and another firearm.
O'Boyle is sentenced to 220 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release.
