A suspect in the robbery of a Git-N-Go and the store's clerk are in custody and facing several charges.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the store at 4224 Northwest 2nd Street in Des Moines was robbed on July 6th shortly before midnight. Police located a suspect shortly, who fled on foot, then pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot himself. The suspect then jumped a fence and evaded deputies.

An investigation led to arrest warrants for 35-year-old Blake Christy and 38-year-old Samantha Buchman, the clerk at the Git-N-Go.

Both were arrested in Ottumwa, and are currently in the Polk County jail. Both face several charges.
