(Des Moines, IA) -- Two people have been sentenced for the attempted murder and kidnapping of a Des Moines woman in 2023.
Jordan Mangum has been sentenced to up to 45 years in prison for the attempted murder and kidnapping of his former girlfriend, Luna Cox. His co-conspirator, Jessica Wheeler, was sentenced to up to 35 years.
The pair pleaded guilty to kidnapping Cox, strangling her, running her over several times with a van, and slashing her throat before leaving her near a hospital in December 2023. Both will be required to serve at least half of their sentences before becoming eligible for parole.
