A wrong way driver from Altoona is killed in a crash on I-80 eastbound, and three others are injured.

The Iowa State Patrol says 19-year-old Zachary Scothorn was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-80 when he crashed into another car around 1:40 a.m. Friday morning. That car was then hit by another.

Scothorn died at the scene. Three other people were taken to the hospital.

A Polk County Sheriff's Deputy was rear-ended at the scene of the crash a few hours later and suffered minor injuries.
