A Des Moines man is facing two criminal charges, including assault, for actions at a political protest last week.

Des Moines Police say two victims were a part of a group protesting on the 56th street bridge over I-235 on August 12th.

They say 68-year-old Bradley Nall then stopped his car on the bridge, and aggressively approached with the intent to tear down signs displayed on the fencing.

The victims told police Nall pushed a sign one victim was holding, hitting her on the head, then tore down some of the posted signs, damaging them in the process.

Police say Nall is facing two misdemeanor charges.
