(Des Moines, IA) -- Major league baseball players from the Cubs, Cardinals, Red Sox and Yankees will be in Des Moines this weekend for the Home Run Derby at Principal Park.
Each batter has two and half minutes to hit as many home runs as they can into the homerun zone, which will be out in right field in the bleacher area.
"Fans can get their tickets for their seats in the homerun zone and catch balls from these major league stars,'' said Elly Simpson of the Iowa Cubs.
The winners of the Cubs vs. Cards and Sox vs. Yankees match ups will face each other in the final round to claim ultimate Homerun Derby X trophy.
The co-ed teams include Ben Zobrist, Jake Arrieta and Erika Piancastelli for Team Cubs, Adam Wainwright, Rick Ankiel and Taylor Shumaker for Team Cardinals, Nick Swisher, Noah Bridges and Jocelyn Alo for Team Yankees and Manny Ramirez, Jonny Gomes and Kinzie Hansen for Team Red Sox
The M-L-B Derby is being held at 6:30 Saturday evening at Principal Park. Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
