(West Des Moines, IA) -- The West Des Moines Police Chief is announcing his retirement.
Chief Chris Scott will retire on March 2nd of next year. He began his career in 1998 with the Indianola Police Department and was a member of the Des Moines Police Department from 2001 to 2017 before accepting the position as chief of the West Des Moines Police Department. During the course of his career, he served in various law enforcement roles, including School Resource Officer, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Patrol Officer, and more.
The West Des Moines City Administrator is expected to announce the search for Scott's replacement after the Civil Service Commission meets later this month.
