(Lincoln, NE) -- The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services reports an inmate death.

47-year- old Malin Choneska died at a Lincoln hospital.

He was being held at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln.

Corrections says Choneska’s sentence began this past May.

He was serving zero to one year out of Douglas County for third offense aggravated driving under the influence.

Corrections says while the cause of death has not yet been determined, Choneska was being treated for a medical condition.

As is the case whenever someone dies in law enforcement custody, or while being taken into custody, a grand jury will investigate under state law.
