(Des Moines, IA) -- Voters in the Des Moines Public School District can weigh in on the district's 265-million dollar bond referendum in November.

Proponent Sharee Morteez says the plan will create learning spaces for students that will help them acquire the skills needed to propel them on their educational journey

The Des Moines Public School Board voted unanimously Tuesday to put the referendum on the November ballot.

"Spread the word to keep telling great stories about Des Moines Public Schools to tell about how this facility plan, 'Reimagine Education,' is going to increase access to student learning experiences," said Board Chair Jackie Norris.

If approved, the bond issuance would hike property taxes by 94-dollars more a year for a house valued at 100-thousand dollars.
