(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines School Board will host a special session after new developments regarding the ICE detention of Des Moines Schools Superintendent Ian Roberts.

The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners has stripped Roberts his job title, and he was placed on paid administrative leave over the weekend. At the special meeting, the School Board is expected to place Roberts on unpaid administrative leave as required by law. The meeting is scheduled for 4:45 Monday afternoon at Central Campus.

Roberts is currently being held at the Woodbury County Jail in Sioux City.
