(Des Moines, IA) -- A Clive woman has been arrested on charges that she stole more than $620,000 from her former employer.
Court documents allege that 69-year-old Joni Dorfman embezzled the money from Comes Investments, where she worked as an office manager and bookkeeper since 2012.
The financial irregularities were discovered after Dorfman retired earlier this year. Investigators say unauthorized checks had been written to her and deposited into her personal account.
Dorfman is now facing charges of first-degree theft, forgery, and fraudulent practices.
She remains in custody at the Polk County Jail.
