(Des Moines, IA) -- A new study of Midwest cities shows Des Moines has the most mobile rental market in the region.
The study by Rent Cafe shows that 54% of renters in Des Moines change apartments within two years. That's a 12% increase since 2018. Other factors include a slowdown in new apartment construction in the last five years, the lowest among the top ten markets, as well as a roughly 10% decrease in the number of renters, with more renters becoming homeowners in the Des Moines metro since 2020.
