(Polk County, IA) -- A bicyclist is dead after a crash with a dump truck in Polk County Thursday.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the 44 year-old female cyclist was biking along the High Trestle bike trail on a recumbent-style bike. Investigators say the dump truck was traveling south on NW 44th Street at the time of the crash. The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with investigators. The cyclist was pronounced at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
