(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines is no stranger to claims of paranormal activity. Residents are sharing what they believe are some of the most haunted places in the metro area.

“There are a lot of old houses over in Sherman Hill, so I’m sure there has to be a haunted house somewhere over there. It’s such a good spot to drive around in the fall because of all the old houses,” said Elianna Novitch, a Des Moines resident.

“I could see Wooly’s, if there’s not an active event happening there, I bet that would be a really freaky space to be in,” said Sam Daily, another Des Moines resident.

Ghost and paranormal tours are being held throughout Des Moines during October to celebrate the Halloween season.
