(Ankeny, IA) -- The City of Ankeny is releasing its schedule for preparing its city parks and outdoor recreation areas for winter.
All parks are open year-round from sunrise to sunset, though parks and recreation areas will be winterized in the coming weeks. All city splash pads are now closed. In the coming weeks, the city's schedule for winterizing parks will include:
- Restrooms at Sunrise and Sunset park will close starting on October 13th
- Drinking fountains at city parks and recreation areas will be shut off during the week of October 20th
- Permanent restrooms at Miracle Park, Glennbrooke Park, Rally Complex, Midway Park, Northwestern Trail Head, and Miracle Park will close on October 20th
- During the week of October 27th, all portable restrooms will be removed from city parks
