(Washington, D.C.) -- Iowa Republican U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley is partnering with a colleague across the aisle to re-introduce legislation to address violent crime reporting.

Grassley and Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen of Nevada re-introduced the Gang Activity Reporting Act in the U.S. Senate. The bipartisan bill would require the FBI, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Homeland Security to provide Congress with annual reports on local, national, and transnational criminal gang activity.

The FBI stopped sending reports on gang activity to Congress in 2009, and the DOJ did the same in 2012.
